Iraqi jailed for Bush shoe attack

Today a Iraqi journalist was jailed for three years for throwing a shoe at President George Bush.

Muntadar al-Zaidi had told the court his actions were "natural, just like any Iraqi" against a leader whose forces had occupied his country.

This man has shown real bravery for the actions that he took and I am sure he know the consequences of the actions he took would be and yet he still acted. How many of us would have acted the same way.

President Bush was universally hated around world for the actions he took during his tenure at the White House and I am sure there are many people if given the opportunity would have done same.

Does the sentence fit the crime? One might ask Should such action be tolerated? Was it a legitimate protest?

In an opinion poll carried out for the BBC and ABC - the full results of which appear next Monday - 62% of Iraqis considered Zaidi a "hero".
Twenty-four percent of the sample viewed him as "criminal", while 10% agreed he was a hero and criminal equally.

Below are my favourite boots – and yeah i would have loved to thrown them at Bush, but in reality would of been frighten of the beating i would of got from the police!

I took this picture during my lunch break earlier today - what a bizzare headline and I would be intrigued to know what the actual story is as I never knew you could get "too wet" in a swimming pool.

Angered that her local McDonald’s was out of Chicken McNuggets, a Florida woman called 911 three times to report the fast food “emergency.” Latreasa Goodman, 27, last Saturday called police to complain that a cashier–citing a McDonald’s all sales are final policy–would not give her a refund.

When cops responded to the restaurant, Goodman told them, “This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn’t have McNuggets, I wouldn’t have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don’t want one.” Goodman noted, “I called 911 because I couldn’t get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets,” according to the below Fort Pierce Police Department report.

That logic, however, did not keep cops from citing Goodman for misusing the 911 system. Even after being issued a misdemeanor citation, Goodman contended, “this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency.”

The McDonald’s devotee is seen at right in a mug shot snapped after a previous encounter with police. Last month, a Florida man was arrested after he called 911 to complain about his displeasure with a Burger King combo meal. [source]
