I Will Follow You - A poem

I will follow you
I will follow you,
with my heart, soul and spirit,
this is what I will do for you.

I will follow you,
thru my doubts, my fears and a few tears
this is what you do for love.

I will follow you,
thru the laughter,
the joy and our memories
this is what I have built with you.

I will follow you,
and watch my youth fade,
and feel you drift away
do I continue to follow?,
this is what you do for love.

but when I need you,
to help me realise my dreams,
to hold me when I feel weak,
to be what I need you to be,
why do I feel so betrayed?

"Gone but never forgotten" - A Poem

"Gone but never forgotten"
There people who are the lights,
that pave the paths in our lives.
that even in death,
I can still feel your whisper in my ear,
your laughter in my heart,
and your love in my soul.

You may be gone,
but you are never forgotten.

As I stand here.
I give thanks,
for all that you have done,
and because of you.
all that I will be able to do.

Fly Away With Me..A Poem

Fly away with me,
where the skies are blue,
the sun is bright,
and the sea warm,

Fly away with me,
where our troubles are gone
and laughter is plenty
and work is just a dream,

Fly away with me,
so I can hold you,
as the sun sets across the sky
and I can whisper,
I love you.

Fly away with me,
so we can be free,
and be who we really want to be,
just you and me.

You stole my heart - Elephant Parade London

The above picture was taken by Kimberley Halder in Notting Hill, London
Thank you for allowing me to use this photograph.

You stole my heart

You stole my heart.
I know it was you,
it wasn't yours to take,
my heart is now in your hands,
you are standing there guilty,
You stole my heart,

You spun my world,
upside down,
and I became a victim of crime,
yet,
here I am with you,
Begging for my heart back,
and secretly hoping,
that you will say,
"No, It's now mine
".

St James' Park Spring Tulips - Violet Affection

I wish you was here,
sitting in this field of heather
purple haze, violet affection,
which holds so many memories
but alas, not everything last forever
only in dreams

Talk, Listen and Accept - A Poem

let’s start by talking,
and I mean talking honestly,
cause being honest and being true,
is the first step forward to having a good conversation.

listen,
and I mean truly listen,
to what's being said,
cause listening is the first step to understanding,

acceptance,
and I mean truly acknowledge,
that something’s are hard to face and even harder to deal with,
acceptance is the first step towards peace,
as it’s the inner peace that we all want.

The Lights of a City that Never Sleeps - A Poem

The lights of a city that never sleeps,
can you feel the beat of a million hearts,
of people going about their busy lives,
it's a melting pot of a thousand cultures,
so feel the rhythm,
and hear the song of the city
of the city that never sleeps

Delete - a Poem

to delete,
to remove,
to erase,
to end it,
and to move on.

it leaves a mark, it leaves a scar,
it leave a memory,
that isn’t easy to forget,
remaining there forever.

Stay - A Poem

Somethings stay with you,
despite your efforts to let go.
take one step at a time,
and time will loosen its grip.
in the meantime,
thank you for staying with me.
as there are things,
I would want to stay,
and that baby,
would be you.

Is This My Life? - A Poem

I am sitting in the dark
wondering which way to go,
life can be so difficult
but do you really care?

is life just a journey,
to be made on your own?
a series of lessons to be learnt

life can be wonderful,
if you can find someone to love you.
I wanna share my life with someone
someone to make memories

does anyone really know me?
or are they trying to make me someone
that I don't want to be
can they see the damage their words do to me
do they really care?

Is this my life?
a reflection in your eyes
a fleeting moment in time
to be forgotten
as no one really cares

Is this my life?

The End - A Poem

2010 so far seems to be a series of endings
and yesterday I saw the ending of another one.

The thing with endings is that although painful,
it can also be the start of something new.

Life is about change, learning, love, pain and growth.

Its about letting go of pain, fear and tears,

the end is another way to having a new beginning.

The End

It came as a surprise,

when it came to an end,

something that I believed would last,

but i guess sadly not.

My heart has slowly broken,

as the door has slowly close,

its over, really over,

so its goodbye,

it was great while it lasted.

Shine your light - Poem

Shine your light

"In my darkness hour, when I feel weak.
shine a light, so I can find you.
through the forest where my fears live
past the shadows and my tears,
shine a your light and I will find you.
Shine your love".

I Believe I can Fly - The Story of Aaron Stephenson

Yesterday It was Aaron's Birthday. He would have been 18 if he was still us today. The world still turns round even when we lose even we lose someone special. Sally wrote a book documenting her son's life. Its called I believe I can fly. I along with Sally put together the below video illustrating the snapshots of his life.

Below is a short poem, dedicated to Sally. I hope she likes it.

Close your eyes and believe
hold my hand
and lets go on a journey where you
make dreams com true
You believed in me
that I could fly

Throw off the shackles that this world has held me
you showed me love
Your showed me strength
Your gave me wings
and together we flew
high so high
I believed I could fly
Because I had you to believe in me

Remembering Someone We Lost - Happy Birthday Aaron

Happy Birthday Aaron - although you are gone your not forgotten.

Today I have posted a video recorded last year of our thoughts on remembrance.

I wrote this poem in the memory of the people that I have lost in recent years.
I wrote this from their point of view.

As I saw the tear disappear down your face
I realized at once
I was going, going
Gone
As I felt the warmth leave my body
Like a leak in my soul,
Slipping away, away from my grasp
I was going, going
Gone
Feeling your breathe
Feeling your hold
Is fading, fading
Please don't leave me
Gone
Distant voices I can’t hear you
Why can’t you hear me
Don’t go, don’t go
Gone
Floating away
Feel no pain
Peace at last
I now say good bye
I love you and I will miss you
Going Going
Gone
I realise that I live in your
heart and your memories
and it then I realise that although I've gone.
I still live on
In you.
Gone

Miami Dreams

I really love Miami and for so many reasons.
The weather, beaches, shopping and most of all my family.
Been thinking about going on holiday in the New Year as I really need a break from it all and Miami is looking like the tonic I need!

The below picture was taken a few years back and it shows the approach to the beach.
I really like this photo as the actual beach is just beyond sight, but i can almost smell and feel the ocean as i think back.
Miami dreams,
is where the sky is blue,
the sand is white
and the sea is warm
I often close my eyes and dream of Miami
as it holds a certain kind of magic for me

A Flock of Geese - Taking a Stroll

A Flock of geese taking a stroll in St James Park

TO CANADA GEESE

By Belle Schmidt

There is no traffic jam in the sky

when you spread your wings and fly

south along a boundless,

trackless pathway.

In undulating V-formation

unerringly you cross the nation,

wings waving to people far below.

Day after day,

like a precision drill team,

sun catching your feathers’ gleam,

in and out you weave and waver;

but never stray.

Your hoarse honking, its purpose clear,

although strident to our ear,

conveys to the flock aloft;

there’s no delay.

Guided along by an unseen force,

you follow an instinctive course,

and make us beneficiaries

of this wondrous display.

The London Eye and the Houses of Parliament - London

Circle of Wonder

In the shadow of political power,
stands the wheel,
where,
love can blossom,
horizons broaden,
dreams born,

take a ride
on the circle of wonder
in an ancient city
close your eyes
make your wish
you never know
it just may come true!

A Poem For You

A Poem For You

Just the thought of you,
brings a smile to my face,
the guiltiest of pleasure,
those treasured memories,

beating hearts,
skips, quivers,shakes,
tattooed with your name,
tattooed with love

your green brown eyes,
brown velvet skin,
your secret smile,
it is all about you.
its all about my love,
for you

Merrist Wood Campus - Worplesdon - Surrey

Daybreak in Surrey
Take a Moment

take a moment to watch the darkness flee the scene,
take a moment to breathe the sweet scent in,
take a moment to feel nature greet the new day,
stand and as one,
with the beauty that surrounds you,
it only takes a moment, so don't let it pass you by

Hungerford Bridge - London

Many thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes I received yesterday.
Today's post photograph is of Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges seen from the South bank.

I chose this photo to represent my mindset for my 37th year.
I want to be looking up at blue skies and crossing bridges towards something new and better.
Yesterday was the start of that journey.
I hope that this change in mindset will enable me start the journey towards a better place,
spiritually, emotionally and physically.

Blue Skies State of Mind
Take a step forward.
It may be in the dark
Or sometimes in the light.
But keep stepping,
Keep moving, striving forward,
Build bridges and forgive
because pain will only hold your back,
See the blue skies above
As that’s where I want to be.
So I keep walking,
One step at a time.
because i'm in a blue skies state of mind.
