On my way to work I witnessed a London underground train carriage being lifted onto Trafalgar square. Why? I have no answer, but I managed to capture this photo to feature on today's post.

Wellington Arch (Constitution Hill Arch)

"Peace in"Quafriga"

The bronze statue on Constitution Hill Arch weighing thirty eight ton, was sculpted by Adrian Jones and erected in 1912. The sculpture depicts the angel of peace descending on the chariot of war. The face of the charioteer leading the quadriga is that of a small boy (actually the son of Lord Michelham, the man who funded the sculpture). The statue is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe.

A bird on a bench - Miami Beach

Today is Friday and the weather in London is screaming Summer!

Weather like this always makes me think of my recent trip to Miami and what a wonderful time i had there. This photo was taken on Miami beach, yards away from the famous Ocean Drive and the flock of birds was flying round a park bench.

I managed to capture a close up of one the birds and I am really pleased to see how well it came out.

The White Tower @ The Tower of London

The White Tower could be taken from a scene in a fairy tale. However, the White Tower is a central tower, the old keep, at the Tower of London. It was started in 1078 by William the Conqueror who ordered the White Tower to be built inside the south-east angle of The City walls, adjacent to the River Thames.

England takes us on a Merry Go Round

The Football World Cup has gripped most of the worlds football nations attention and today is the must win game for my home nation England. After the poor performance of their last two games, expectations are running high for a convining win.

I'm sure the match will have the nation on a merry go round of emotions, I just hope we win.

Tower Bridge - London - through the trees

Tower Bridge is one of London's oldest iconic landmarks. It has been seen right across the world from many view points. I was aiming to show Tower Bridge beauty by hiding most of the structure behind some trees. This photograph was taken from the Tower of London. I hope you like it.

St Martins in the Field - Café in the Crypt

The refurbished Cafe in the Crypt has a delicious range of British menu. The Cafe is situated in the basement of the central London church, which is a stones throw from Trafalgar Square and the National gallery. If you are ever in the area and want to eat good value British food, you could do no better than here. I recommend the apple crumble and custard.

It was simply delicious!

Miami Ink - Washington Avenue, South Beach - Miami

The hit show Miami Ink is filmed in Miami's, South Beach. As a big fan of the show and tattoos in general, this store was somewhere I had to visit.

The phase "it just like it is on telly!" sprang to my mind. It was great to actually see the shop and the tattooist at work. I didn't get a tattoo (way above my price bracket) but would love to have another tattoo in the future.

Lincoln Road - Miami - Florida

I have just returned from a great trip in Florida and I had a wonderful time.

I stayed near Lincoln road, South Beach which has some great shops and restaurants.

The great thing about Lincoln Road is the gorgeous architecture and how the well the area has retained the Art Deco style. More pictures to follow.
