Trojan's Corner Does Strictly Come Dancing
08
Now that Strictly come dancing has returned to our screens and my recent evening spent dancing or trying to dance salsa at the Rivoli ballroom on Friday. I decided to repost a video that Sally and I done on salsa.
Now that I have been doing salsa for a while now, I discovered some things about me that I didn't know before.
Doing salsa freestyle is so hard... i can do the set routines in the class, but can I do salsa on my own...Hell no! my mind goes blank and i just freeze. Its like the power of dance just leaves me and I feel like a right idiot.
Normally I love to dance and feel confident when I am on the dance floor. Its funny when you discover that something you can normally can do and find you suddenly cant do it.
Salsa is my personal challenge this year, I find it really inspires me to be a better dancer and a more confident person. I m now trying to improve my free styling dancing.
I been loving the new series of Strictly Come Dancing and been contestants this year are really great. My favourite to win this year goes to Ricky Whittle and his dance partner Natalie Lowe are really good.

Trojan's Corner - The Michael Jackson Memorial
It was truly a fitting way for the fans across the world to pay their respects to arguably the greatest entertainment the world has ever seen.
The whole set up was very impressive and to have Michaels casket there was really touching, I actually shed a tear (or a few) when the brothers bought it into the arena.
The standout performances for me was Usher, Stevie and John Mayer. I also feel the speeches were very personal and heartfelt.
Below is a posting of my initial thoughts after watching the show.

Salsa - Feel the heat!
Now as you can see i am here dancing with Sally (from Sally's World) and yes my dancing ability has improved somewhat from my last posting on this subject.
I did however have s slight dancing malfunction with the lady in the first picture wearing pink.
Whilst doing the routine I spun the woman around a little too fast and she spun round and round while falling steadily to the floor.
The woman crushed on the floor and the whole class came to a stand still.
Struggling not to laugh and feeling very embarrassed I rushed over to pick the woman up. Dragging the poor and traumatised woman up i said sorry and gave her a kiss on the cheek (why you ask?) I had to distract her from what happened and my kisses are that good!
My mum thought it was hilarious and was laughing, but I must admit I was laughing by this time too.
That's the great thing about salsa, you can mess up and still have a great laugh.
I had a go also at the next level up (intermediate) I was able to follow it for most of the way but had to drop out towards the end as i found it too hard. My challenge is to be able to follow the entire routine.
Over all we had a great time, my mum has threaten to join in next time she comes... she loved watching the lesson and I think she will love taking part...
Gotta go, enjoy the pictures and the video ( you will see Sally drop some hot salsa moves!)

Sally's World talks about Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with written language, particularly with reading. It is separate and distinct from reading difficulties resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or from poor or inadequate reading instruction.
Evidence suggests that dyslexia results from differences in how the brain processes written and spoken language. Although dyslexia is thought to be the result of a neurological difference, it is not an intellectual disability. Dyslexia is diagnosed in people of all levels of intelligence

The Year of the Ox - Chinese New Year

Today is the start of the Chinese New Year. This year its the year of the Ox.
People born in the Chinese New Year of Ox, 2009 will preponderantly have the below mentioned traits in their character: Leadership qualities, dependable, great organizers, loyal, patient as well as strong and responsible. They are also some of the best people one can have as colleagues in the work place as they are believed to posses strong work ethics and display their creative side as well, especially when it comes to decorating their home.
The start of the year, is a time when people reflect on the past year and looking forward to the new one by making resolutions.
Sally (Sally's World) and I recently done a video talking about our resolutions.for the New Year.
Have a look and feel free to share on plans for 2009, the year of the Ox.

Doing the Salsa!
the effect that i am aiming for!One of my New Year’s resolutions is to continue my salsa lessons. Salsa is something
that always wanted to do but never got round to joining a class.Yesterday was my first lesson this year and although the hall was freezing, once we started the lesson we soon warmed up. Today my legs are slightly aching so i guess it's good for exercising as well.
Salsa is sociable and fun. The people in the class are of from different backgrounds and ages. Some are better than others but all there to learn and have fun.
The Salsa King
Below is a video of Sally and I doing Salsa. We are not the best dancers, but you can see we are having fun.
Feel free to tick any of the boxes below or leave a comment!
