The new millennium officially started in Greenwich, England on 1st January 2001; The World's biggest dome was built on the Meridian Line (The Prime Meridian of the World) in Greenwich to celebrate this historic event.
The Millennium Dome closed to visitors on 31st December 2000 a few hours before the new millennium officially begun!

great black & white shot, trojan! i was surprised to learn that it was sir richard rogers's building. it's so not his style. but what a great piece of engineering for the build of the dome at this scale. once was said that it couldn't be done and here it is.

ReplyDeleteGood.I don't see the need for Liverpool to get a new stadium, it will just put them in severe debt. I think it will be like the Millenium Dome (nothing worth seeing) as what can a new stadium offer that the other one hasn't got? If it was that rubbish a stadium, they would have built the new one years ago
