Today is the first day of Europe's biggest carnival. It's historical roots are from the carnivals from the Caribbean Thousands of people all over the world will converge on the narrow streets of Notting hill to experience the diverse sound systems, Caribbean food, people floats.
Sunday is children’s day and a great opportunity for children to experience the many floats and costumes.

LOL - The cops where great. I asked if could take their picture and the obliged. The carnival has changed so much over the years it is hardly recognizable from how I or even my parents remember it.

ReplyDeleteHi Garcon, thanks for stopping by. You friend is right. The carnival has moved on from its original carnival roots and has become more of a multicultural celebration instead. Is this a good or bad thing? Thats another post.
