The snow continues to fall all over the UK and continues to be the subject of conversation of on the news, trains, buses and tubes station. Here is a photo of a St James Palace on Pall Mall
You never know in the UK - but snow in London, especially the centre, is quite rare. The very centre of the city is usually a few degrees warmer than the outside. The UK is also currently about five degrees warmer than it was this time last year.
If it's still around I'll try and get some photos this evening but I fear it may all be gone by the time I get home (not a flake in Glasgow today, complete whiteout in Hamilton, most odd).
The best place will be outside the main entrance to St James's Palace, at the end of Pall Mall. The guards on duty there are on foot, rather than on horseback like the cavalry guards at Horseguards Parade.
I sit looking through my window here in London at just before 4pm, the sun is shining out of a clear blue sky and there is no sign of even a slight breeze. Now, to get snow, we need clouds, and to get clouds we need the wind to blow them over us.

ReplyDeleteSnow in so many years, local councils didn't have any grit to clear the roads! But we had a good time anyway.
