President Obama First London Visit

Last was a night where my dream came true. I saw and heard President Obama make his first speech in the UK.

My friend Damon asked me if I wanted to go and any one who knows me would know that I am a big Obama fan.

The audience was mainly workers from the US Embassy in London and people who worked at the Democrats aboard.

Any how it was simply brilliant and to see and hear the President speak live and in person was something that I thought I would never do. So dreams can come true.

The President spoke about how happy he was to be in London and that appreciated the good work that the employees of the US Embassy has done to promote US interest abroad. He also spoke about the close connection the US has with the UK in terms of its history, language and ideals. He ended with the need to focus on the challenges ahead and the need to work together and make bold moves to solve the problems the world is facing.

Below are some pictures and a short video clip that I took of the evening.

Enjoy :)

  2. First, Congrats! I'd love to hear him speak live. He is such a great speaker.

Second, I think it's AMAZING that our president has "fans" around the world! It's a far cry from our last "leader".

Very cool, Trojan! And you looked quite dapper in your striped tie. Was the red, white, and blue intentional or merely a coincidence? Very patriotic and a fitting ensemble to greet the U.S. President in. :)
